Helping Others Encounter the Love of God

For many years, West Catholic—along with other Catholic schools, parishes and organizations—has benefited from the passion, commitment and generosity of Karen Weber. Karen, a certified teacher of St. John Paull II's Theology of the Body, has been a champion in spreading the message of the inherent dignity of the human person to students, staff and the broader community through her financial and organizational support. She has helped West Catholic engage nationally renowned speakers such as Bill Donaghy and Jason Evert, and now her charitable gifts will continue through a new donor advised fund (DAF) set up through the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan.

“I love the advisory role I have with the fund, which allows me to provide grants that align with my vision,” says Karen. “I am excited to be able to review requests, set priorities and help our schools and parishes get the resources they need to encounter the love of God in dynamic ways.”

Donor advised funds are flexible, simple and charitable. Once the initial fund is set up, additional contributions can be made at any time in any amount. This fund invests your charitable gift to grow tax-free for future giving. Potential federal income tax deductions are taken in the year in which the charitable contribution is made, yet the grants may be given out at any time.

Thank you to Karen and all those who support West Catholic through donor advised funds!
