View My GuideA donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to West Catholic and other qualified charities. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.
You can also create a lasting legacy by naming West Catholic the beneficiary of the entire account or a percentage of the fund. With a percentage, you can create a family legacy of giving by naming your loved ones as your successor to continue recommending grants to charitable organizations. Contact your fund administrator for a beneficiary form.

Joe and Laura want to give back to West Catholic and other diocesan charities by putting their money where it will do the most good. They establish a $25,000 donor advised fund through the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan. They have all the time they need to decide when and where to give their support.
Through Joe and Laura’s DAF, named the Megan Fund in honor of their daughter, they decide to support West Catholic’s annual fund, the school’s endowment and their local parish’s capital campaign.
The couple receive a federal income tax charitable deduction for the full amount of the gift. Joe and Laura can continue to add to their fund, reaping federal income tax charitable deductions with each donation.
The Catholic Foundation of West Michigan presents checks to these causes, leaving Joe and Laura delighted to continue their personal legacy of giving.
